“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” – Mahatma Gandhi.
For Rubel Ahamed, the journey with Swapnopuron Shiksha Niketan (SSN) began on February 1st, 2018, a date that marked not just the start of a job but the beginning of a profound personal transformation and a commitment to a powerful vision. Armed with a post-graduation in Education, a B.Ed, and qualifications in NET, SET ,& WB TET, Rubel found himself drawn to the revolutionary spirit of SSN in Hingalganj. He recognized the urgent need for quality education among the marginalized children of the Sundarbans, those often overlooked and underserved. This recognition wasn’t just an observation; it was the spark that ignited his dedication.
Rubel readily admits that Swapnopuron has fundamentally changed him. Joining in 2018 without prior teaching experience, he has blossomed into the Academic Co-ordinator. He credits SSN for instilling in him a greater sense of responsibility, punctuality, and the skills of effective leadership. For Rubel, SSN is more than a workplace; it is his second family, a place where he truly feels he is living his best life.
His vision for Swapnopuron is ambitious, reaching for what might seem impossible to some. He dreams of the day SSN gains CBSE affiliation, paving the way for a national-level playing field for the talented children of the Sundarbans, children he believes have the potential to excel in academics and even in national-level sports. He envisions the construction of two hostels, one for boys and one for girls, a robust boundary wall, ample academic space, and a dedicated resource center. In his mind’s eye, he sees a thriving Swapnopuron family of 5000 students, achieving remarkable feats – clearing NEET, JEE, UPSC, WBCS – all while growing into compassionate and responsible human beings. He doesn’t see these as distant fantasies but as attainable goals, fueled by the collective efforts of the entire SSN team.
Rubel sees the evolution of Swapnopuron as a remarkable journey, a transformation from a humble beginning – a small boat with just five teachers in 2012 – to a growing fleet, a “cruise ship” boasting 70 employees, serving 800 children across five branches. This inspiring growth story is a testament to the dedication and vision that Rubel Ahamed embodies.
It’s your turn. What seemingly impossible vision burns within you? What transformation can you champion, starting with a single step, a small boat of an idea? Look around you – where is the need, where is the potential waiting to be unlocked? Embrace the journey, even if it begins humbly. Your dedication, like Rubel’s, can navigate the waters of challenge and steer towards a brighter horizon for others. How will you set sail towards your own extraordinary vision?
